Outliers: The Story of Success (2011)

A fantastic book about why people are successful. Think it’s because some people were born successful? How about because of fate? Or hard work?

Gladwell explores all of this. About the only option he doesn’t consider is that God plays a role in one’s success.

He uses a lot of interesting case studies from hockey players to lawyers, Bill Gates, and many more.

In sum, he says that success is a product of opportunities given to people and their seizing them, with fate and chance in there as well; success is sometimes based on when people are born and often on how much practice they have at doing something.
